Grants for acquisition of computer and telecommunications technology equipment--limitation.

170.254. 1. From moneys appropriated for this purpose from the fund established by section 160.500, RSMo, by rule and regulation, the state board of education shall make grants to school districts for the acquisition of computers, data transmission lines, networking hardware and software, science and mathematics laboratory equipment, and such other equipment to promote the use of computers and telecommunications technology. In determining the criteria and procedures for grants authorized by this section, the state board of education shall consider the advice and counsel provided by the advisory committee established pursuant to subsection 4 of section 170.250.

2. In no case shall the grants authorized by this section exceed five million dollars in any fiscal year.
